RONI NICOLE HENDERSON

Roni is a filmmaker, working her way through her memories and musings. Dance/movement are central in her practice and through the fusion of a “dancing camera” and kinetic black bodies, she seeks to re-imagine the ethos of perception, bend time and ultimately, heal.

A native of New York City, Eric Branco attended The Bronx High School of Science and the School of Visual Arts before beginning his career in film.
Branco has lensed several feature films including V/H/S (dir. Glenn McQuaid), EMERALD CITY (dir. Colin Broderick), and most recently, CLEMENCY (dir. Chinonye Chukwu), which took home the Grand Jury Prize at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
He has also shot numerous short films, such as NIGHT SHIFT (dir. Marshall Tyler), THE RIVER (dir. Sam Handel), MOTHS AND BUTTERFLIES (dir. Alfonso Johnson), and THE COMPOSITOR (dir. John Mattiuzzi), winner of a 2013 Student Academy Award.
Branco's work has screened at festivals worldwide, including Sundance, TriBeCa, Slamdance and SXSW.
He was recently named one of Variety's "10 Cinematographers to Watch" 2019.
Eric splits time between NYC and Los Angeles. On days off, he can usually be found in the upper deck of Yankee Stadium with his wife and daughter.
MICHAELA PILAR BROWN
PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Michaela Pilar Brown is an image and object maker. She studied sculpture and art history at Howard University, though she has always been a maker of things. Born in Bangor, Maine and raised in Denver, Colorado, she cut her teeth in the halls of a museum where her mother worked as a security guard, and has been immersed in the culture of objects, their making and interpretation ever since.

T. LANG
CHOREOGRAPHER
T. Lang is dedicated to exposing the arts and emerging communities to the creative impact and genius of dance. Lang earned her Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts in performance and choreography from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts respectively.
Lang’s 2016 season included another commission from the High Museum of Art’s Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit and another award from Creative Loafing Atlanta for Best Choreographer. In 2017, T. Lang expanded her vocabulary and delved into her first commission as a multimedia digital artist for Zuckerman Museum’s Medium Exhibition. The fourth installment of Post Up series called POST, premiered a three-week production run at an abandoned church on the decommissioned Atlanta military base, Fort McPherson. She continues her expansion in 2018 with creating new movement scores for independent film director Roni Nicole’s And the People Could Fly. Currently, Lang's newest work, A Graveyard Duet of the Past Now was commissioned by the High Museum of Art for a multiple performances that are in conversation with visual artist, Kara Walker's Jubilant Martyrs of Obsolescence and Ruin.
Lang is an Associate Professor and founding Department Chair of Spelman Dance at Spelman College. Lang stays engaged with the next generation of movement artists through her summer dance intensive SWEATSHOP.
